This Privacy Policy explains how UniTok ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal data when you use the UniTok mobile application and related services.

1 Information We Collect

We collect the types of information described below to provide, secure, and improve the app.

  • Account Information: email address, username, profile details you provide.
  • User-Generated Content: posts, comments, images, videos, and any media you upload or create within UniTok.
  • Authentication & Security Data: hashed passwords, authentication tokens, device identifiers, login timestamps, and IP addresses to protect accounts and prevent fraud.
  • Usage & Diagnostics: app usage logs, analytics, crash reports, performance data to improve reliability and features.
  • Camera & Media Access: we request access to the device camera and/or photo library only when you explicitly choose to capture or select media inside the app. We do not use the camera in the background.
  • Optional Data: location or contacts only if you explicitly enable related features (and after you grant permission).

2 How We Use Your Information

3 Camera & Media Specifics

Short summary: Camera access is only used when you intentionally take a photo or record a video inside UniTok. There is no continuous or background recording.

  • Permission: the app requests android.permission.CAMERA (and photo/media storage access when needed). The permission is requested at runtime and you can revoke it at any time via system settings.
  • Usage: media captured is uploaded only if you confirm/submit it in the app. We do not upload camera feed automatically.
  • Retention: uploaded media is stored so long as your account is active or as required for troubleshooting, moderation, or legal reasons.

4 Data Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service Providers: trusted vendors that perform hosting, analytics, crash reporting, messaging, and content delivery on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal & Safety: when required by law, to respond to legal process, or to protect rights, property, safety, or to enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Business Transfers: in the event of a merger, sale, or asset transfer, user data may be transferred; we will require the acquiring entity to honor this policy.
  • Aggregated Data: we may share aggregated or de-identified analytics that cannot reasonably identify you.

5 Data Retention

If you delete your account, we will remove or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain data for legal, tax, or safety reasons.

7 Children

UniTok is intended for users who meet the minimum age required by local laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children who are below the legal minimum age. If you believe a child has provided us personal data without parental consent, please contact us and we will promptly delete the data where required.

8 Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting practices. No system is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data via one of the methods below:

  1. In-App: Profile → Settings → Delete Account (recommended).
  2. Email: Send a deletion request from your registered email to otp@unitokapp.com with subject: Delete My UniTok Account. Include your username and a short verification statement.

We will verify the request and process deletion within a reasonable timeframe. Some content (e.g., posts shared with others) may persist in cached or archived copies and may not be fully removable from third-party systems.

10 International Transfers

Data may be processed or stored in countries outside your residence. When transfers occur, we apply appropriate safeguards required by applicable law.
